Operating System

System commonly called( Operating System) or commonly abbreviated OS, the device( software) system that serves controlling and hardware management( hardware) and operations base of a computer system. System informasi Management include run the software applications such as word processing program, multimedia player, and other other. Operating System is the first software contained in a computer memory at the computer in a state of running. While the other software will run after the SO( operating system) running first. After that SO will do service to the other software. Some services the usual conducted by the SO are: disk access Memory Management Scheduling Task Settings user interface, and others.
 

Open Source

Open source is software where the source code is open and is provided by the developer in general in order to be studied, modified or further developed and disseminated. If there is a maker of software that does not allow the code to be changed or modified, it is not referred to as open source even though the program code of the software available.

Close Source

Closed source (or proprietary) is a type of computer program source code development. With closed source software, the source code is not shared with the public for anyone to look at or make changes to. Closed source is the opposite of open source.

Most companies who sell their software for money make it closed source to make it harder for people to change it or copy it for free.

Even some people and companies who give their software for free do not show the source code, because they think it looks bad, or that somebody will change the authors' names to their own (a kind of plagiarism) without making the program better. Some programs called “freeware” are given away for free, but they are not the same as free software that anyone can do whatever they want with.Example : Smadav Antivirus, IOS, Opera, Safari.

Bit

Unit of the most basic in the computer network, or inside your computer. Basically number bit is representative of electricity, which there is only 2 only that is 1 and 0, which can be called 1 = no electricity and 0 = no electricity.

Byte

This new unit of the most basic computer. 1 byte consists of 8 bits. Therefore 1 byte can represent numbers to 255,( if described long, because the relationship ama mathematics, in short numbers 15 decimal = 1111 in the number bit). byte can also represents 1 character of the computer. Byte formed of eight bits. Byte is also used to represent letters, numbers, symbols in the form of ASCII (American Standard Code for Information). For example, if you type the letter A on the keyboard, the computer recorded it as 65 ASCII code and translate it into binary calculation as 01,000,001 - which is 1 byte data.

Sistem Operasi

Sistem yang biasanya disebut (Operating System) atau yang biasa disingkat OS, perangkat lunak (software) sistem yang berfungsi melakukan pengontrolan dan manajemen perangkat keras (hardware) serta operasi-operasi dasar dari suatu sistem Komputer. Sistem imformasi adalah Manajemen ini termasuk menjalakan software aplikasi seperti program  pengolah kata, pemutar multimedia, dan lain lainnya. Sistem Operasi adalah software pertama yang terdapat pada sebuah memori komputer pada saat komputer dalam keadaan running. Sedangkan software lainnya akan berjalan setelah SO(sistem operasi) berjalan terlebih dahulu. Setelah itu SO akan melakukan pelayanan terhadap software lainnya . Beberapa layanan yang biasa dilakukan oleh SO adalah: Akses Disk, Manajemen Memori, Penjadwalan Task, Pengaturan user interface , dan lain-lain.

Open Source

Open source adalah perangkat lunak dimana kode program terbuka dan disediakan oleh pengembangnya secara umum agar dapat dipelajari, diubah atau dikembangkan lebih lanjut dan disebar luaskan. Jika ada pembuat perangkat lunak yang tidak mengizinkan kode programnya diubah atau dimodifikasi, maka bukanlah disebut sebagai open source walaupun kode program dari perangkat lunak tersebut tersedia.

Closed Source

Closed source (proprietary atau) adalah jenis program komputer pengembangan kode sumber. Dengan perangkat lunak sumber tertutup, kode sumber tidak dibagi dengan publik bagi siapa saja untuk melihat atau melakukan perubahan. Closed source adalah kebalikan dari open source.
Sebagian besar perusahaan yang menjual perangkat lunak mereka untuk uang membuatnya ditutup sumber untuk membuat lebih sulit bagi orang untuk mengubah atau menyalin secara gratis.
 Bahkan beberapa orang dan perusahaan yang memberikan software mereka secara gratis tidak menunjukkan kode sumber, karena mereka pikir itu tampak buruk, atau bahwa seseorang akan mengubah nama penulis 'untuk mereka sendiri (semacam plagiat) tanpa membuat program yang lebih baik. Beberapa program yang disebut "freeware" yang diberikan secara gratis, tetapi mereka tidak sama dengan perangkat lunak bebas bahwa setiap orang dapat melakukan apapun yang mereka inginkan.

Bit

Satuan paling dasar dalam jaringan komputer, atau bagian dalam komputer. Pada dasarnya bilangan bit merupakan perwakilan aliran listrik, yakni hanya ada 2 saja yaitu 1 dan 0, yang bisa disebut 1 = ada listrik dan 0 = tidak ada listrik.

Byte

Ini baru satuan paling dasar komputer. 1 byte terdiri dari 8 bit. Oleh karena itu 1 byte bisa mewakili angka sampai 255, (kalau dijelaskan panjang, karena hubungan ama matematika, singkatnya bilangan 15 desimal = 1111 dalam bilangan bit). byte bisa juga mewakili 1 karakter komputer.. Byte Terbentuk dari delapan bit. Byte juga digunakan untuk mewakili huruf-huruf, angka-angka, simbol-simbol lain dalam bentuk ASCII (American Standart Code for Information). Sebagai contoh, bila Anda mengetik huruf A pada keyboard, komputer merekamnya sebagai kode ASCII 65 dan menerjemahkannya dalam perhitungan biner sebagai 01000001 – yang merupakan 1 byte data.
